Chair yoga is accessible to everyone who can put their butt in a chair, as instructor, Jan Evrard, likes to describe it. Although movement is simple, it is highly effective in strengthening our muscles and bones, benefiting all systems of the body, and bringing calm to our minds, bodies and spirits. You don't have to be flexible, graceful or strong to take part, but all these things will improve with practice. Jan has been teaching yoga for 10 years, but did not begin doing so until she was 62 years old. She understands that yoga can be intimidating for many people, so she is intentional about making it simple, fun, and allowing people to just be themselves. It's a judgement free zone, and everyone is welcome. Just show up, have an open mind, and remember, it's free!!
