About this Event
The craft of making stuff out of interlocking rings is over 2000 years old, and now you have a chance to keep it going through the modern age. Whether you're interested in making shiny decorations or a full set of badass armor, this class will give you the basics to get you on your way.
You will learn:
- The tricks of manipulating jump rings (not as easy as it may seem!).
- One or two basic chainmail weave patterns.
- A lot of facts about the history of the craft.
You will make:
- A decorative item approximately the size of a bracelet.
This class is great for: Cosplayers, medieval enthusiasts, jewelers, fashionistas, knitters, and anyone getting into crafts and metalwork.
Things to bring: Tools and supplies will be provided, but you may want to bring two sets of small smooth-jawed pliers, and light work gloves.
This is a masks optional class.
As with all NYC Resistor events, this class is 18+ and governed by our Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct, as well as accessibility information, can be found at www.nycresistor.com/participate/.
