Combining the lyricism of the clarinet and symphonic texture of the piano, University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre, and Dance faculty members Amy I-Lin Cheng and Chad Burrow will take audiences through a colorful journey with Poulenc’s witty and soulful Sonata, Martinu’s folk-inspired Sonatina, and David Baker’s jazz-blues-dance-infused Sonata. Following the sonatas, two operatic paraphrases on music by Puccini and Rossini will surely bring charm, drama, and virtuosic fireworks to this musical journey.This concert is generously supported by Chamber Music Series Sponsor William Fulton
