CHAAP TILAK – Tales of Block PrintsOrganized by TAAL CONNECT
India’s textile heritage, rich in symbolism and regional uniqueness, has been upheld by generations of artisans—handloom weavers, block printers, dyers, painters, and embroiderers. Among these, block printing remains one of the most enduring and iconic forms. Designs are meticulously carved into wood, iron, or brass blocks and stamped onto fabrics using natural and synthetic dyes—creating timeless patterns beyond the reach of machines.
To celebrate this craft, TAAL CONNECT, founded by Suman Sarawgi and Sangeeta Dudhoria, proudly presents CHAAP TILAK – Tales of Block Prints—featuring exhibitions, expert talks, a vibrant bazaar, and live performances.
The event will showcase regional techniques such as Bagh, Bagru, Matani Patchedi, Kalamkari, Sanganeri, Dabu, Ajrakh, Gaamthi, and Dhamadka, along with fusion forms like block printing with Bandhani and Chikankari.
