Join us at CF Sherway Gardens for an enriching workshop on vertical home gardening, presented in collaboration with Humber College's Centre for Social Innovation and the GARDENS Project. Discover the joy of cultivating your own vegetables and herbs right at home, and learn sustainable gardening practices that will transform your living space into a green oasis.
In this interactive 2-hour session, families are invited to delve into the world of urban gardening alongside esteemed instructors, Phil Fung from the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology at Humber College, and Katie Begley from the Early Childhood Studies program at the University of Guelph-Humber.
From selecting the perfect plants for you to exploring vertical gardening techniques, this workshop offers hands-on guidance and expert insights to kickstart your journey towards greener living. The workshop includes a hands-on learning activity, after which you can take your very own potted basil seeds and microgreens in aquaponics to watch them sprout at home! Whether you're a novice or an experienced gardener, this event shares something innovative and sustainable for everyone.
Each adult and child 12 years old and above who would like to attend should have a registered Eventbrite ticket. A ticket reserves a workshop kit for you. Children under the age of 12 are welcome to join and help you during the activity, but will not receive their own workshop kit. Register early to confirm your spot!
