Calor Extremo para Profesionales del Paisajismo y la Construcción

Certificado de Calor extremo para profesionales del paisajismo y la construcción de USGBC-CA del mundo con mayor estrés climático, experimenta impactos profundos y variados en toda su vasta extensión. Prepararse para el cambio climático requiere aprender a adaptarse a este cambio para aumentar la resistencia de las comunidades, los sistemas naturales y nuestro entorno construido para soportar y recuperarse de las perturbaciones relacionadas con el clima. La adaptación al clima y la resiliencia son conceptos relacionados, pero distintos. Por lo general, la adaptación al clima es una acción o conjunto de acciones que reducen el riesgo climático físico que construye comunidades resistentes al clima.


Esta formación aportará beneficios climáticos al enseñar a quienes trabajan directamente con residentes, propietarios de viviendas, administradores de fincas y propietarios de edificios a comprender las opciones de resiliencia climática para que los edificios sean más resistentes a los efectos cada vez más costosos del cambio climático. Esto ayudará a California a lograr una economía neutra en carbono y los trabajadores estarán en el centro de este esfuerzo.


La base de este contenido se fundamentará en comunicar a los profesionales de la industria cuáles son los impactos a corto y largo plazo del calor extremo en la salud de los trabajadores y de la comunidad, con soluciones estratégicas sobre cómo mitigar esos impactos. USGBC-CA USGBC-CA Training & Program Manager


Robert is a green building professional specializing in making the built environment more sustainable. He is a LEED AP O+M, LFA, Fitwell Ambassador, and GPRO Instructor and has used this experience to participate in many LEED projects in the San Diego region. Robert continues to use his project experience to educate others about green building strategies, measures, and practices. Robert also volunteers for SD 350 and the San Diego Building Electrification Coalition to advocate for just, equitable, and sustainable communities for all.

USGBC-CA Education Programs Manager


Elizabeth graduated in Environmental Studies from Temple University. Elizabeth worked under Joanne Donahue, the Manager of Land Restoration at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education cultivating native plants and removing invasive species from the Penn’s Native Acre. Elizabeth also designed and installed an educational sensory garden for students. Elizabeth also worked in the West End of Outdoor Horticulture at Longwood Gardens, where she oversaw the orchard, Migratory Bird Sanctuary, vegetable garden, idea garden, trial garden, children’s garden.

Since moving to California, Elizabeth was the Program Manager for Eco Urban Gardens. She developed and implemented the Farm to Table and Farm to School programs. Elizabeth combines her passion for regenerative landscape and urban design with the impact on community health and environmental justice. She has a Docent Naturalist certification from Eaton Canyon Nature Center and has volunteered for the LA County Arboretum and California Native Plant Society.
