About this Event
Following a disaster, there may be injured survivors and professional responders may not be available for an extended period of time. Our goal is for you to learn how to safely provide the greatest good for the greatest number of people.
In this unit you will learn how to Identify the three most common life-threatening conditions following a disaster, how to perform potentially life-saving interventions to stabilize a survivor with these life-threatening conditions, and how to move them away from ongoing danger. We will also teach basic first-aid care for several common non-fatal injuries.
The exercises will involve working in teams and physical exertion such as getting up and down from the floor.
