About this Event
We are looking for general volunteers and simulation role players that can assist those going through the training with receiving their credentials. We are looking for volunteers to help us with training set up and on the final day of training, we will host a live action simulation that will give the trainees an opportunity to practice what they have learned throughout the 3-day training. This will include;
- proper use of a fire extinguisher (real fire)
- basic medical and first aid
- various victim carries to safety
- Incident Command System practice
- immediate life saving triage
- setting up a medical triage area
- treating patients accordingly
The general volunteers will be very useful throughout the week to help with coursse set up, and some exercises. The role players will be necessary for Saturday.
During the simluation, all injuries will of course be fake, and each role player will receive a script as to what your position will look like. We will also give you the opportunity to put on fake makeup, fake blood, and to act out your injury to make it feel even more real for those rescuing you.
The simulation will take place outdoors and /or indorrs at Camp Barkeley at our training facility.
