Cy-Fair CERT Class 41 Spring 2024 – Community Emergency Response Training
R EGISTER ONLINE NOW to begin free training, receive a seat assignment including FREE safety equipment. This training course is designed for your not having to buy any extra materials or item during or after this team training. Please commit to completing 80% or more of this training for your team. This is not a look and see if you like the program. You are part of the success of your team from the start.
Schedule is for March 19 thru May 14, 2024, Tuesday's 6:15 PM Sign In & Seating. Training begins at 6:30 PM. No limits or requirements on experience or abilities. This is about your personal safety and the safety of home and those in your family. No requirements to volunteer after this class. This schedule includes a 9th week since sometime Harris county has a flood or emergency activation of our trainers. This is why we ask to cell phone numbers for your safety and schedule notifications.
No pre-existing skills are needed to complete this training. No paper tests. Your attention and active participation are your most important assets, for the entire class to learn as a group and enjoy the CERT team spirit.
THIS NATIONAL PROGRAM IS FOR YOUR SAFETY and the safety of your loved ones and neighbors. Protective equipment is provided at no charge. There are discussions week #1 on keeping your home safer. Week one we will discuss clothing and shoes you already own for your comfort and safety during week #2through week#8. Upon graduation you receive your CERT ID card, and Certificate of completion.

Additional trainings on a variety of topics available to CERT Certified members.

- Medical Operations and Triage (2 sessions)
- Search and Rescue
- Disaster Psychology & Incident Command Structure
- Terrorism and CERT
- A Final Drill (to demonstrate the skills you have learned during the class with your team)
All classes are taught by professionals in their field.

Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HCOHSEM) trains residents for NO FEE twice a year at many locations. This event is hosted by Cy-Fair CERT Training members, Cy-Fair Fire Department facilities and HCOHSEM, who agreed to bring expert trainers and materials. Class dates are listed above. Training classes will be held at the Lone Star College-Cy-Fair Emergency Education Services Center (ESEC – 18132 West Road, Entrance E – Houston, TX (Cypress, TX 77433) – next to the fire station located just west of the Lone Star College, https://goo.gl/maps/hLZX9fqYBc6U1YPN6). You may miss 2 classes and still graduate, but you must attend the final drill (last class meeting – a team demonstration of the skills you learned).
There is NO FEE for this 8 week Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) class (FEMA requires that each class be comprised of 8 modules, CFC classes are held on consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, an 8 week commitment, one evening a week, sign-in and seating at 6:15 PM).
You will receive a class manual and backpack with starter supplies such as a hardhat and safety vest. Upon graduation you receive a certificate and official CERT photo ID card.
CyFair CERT has 600+ citizens already trained by CERT in the surrounding communities including Bear Creek, Bridgeland, Coles Crossing, Copperfield, Fairfield, Towne Lake and neighboring Cy-Fair communities who have taken our training. For this training, people have come from Wsller, Montgomery, Crosby, LaPorte, Ellington, Texas City, Rosharon, Richmond, Katy to attend CyFair CERT trainings,

This program is for adults ages 18 and older, and there are no resources available for child care. If you or anyone you know would like to join, please make arrangements for child care before attending. This ia an actibe fire training and fire fighting facility. no minors permitted for their safety and the safety of others.
And a Safety reminder to all, CERT is all about your safety and about the safety of others. Never Rush or Race in traffic to class. If you or someone driving for you are running late, DRIVE SAFE, safely notify Trey Cox via Text or Phone Call of your schedule. This allows the class leaders to adjust for your abence or late arrival. Traveling in an unsafe way absolutly makes no sense in coming to a national safety program.
