FREE CERT Basic Training!
Learn skills that will keep your family and neighbors safer in a disaster! Develop skills that support our first responders when there is a large-scale disaster! Train with and join this unique, community-based team!
The Tacoma Fire Department invites community members who live or work within the city limits of Tacoma to attend our Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training. This training session prepares you to respond to disasters. Our FEMA-modeled course will give you hands-on experience with small fire suppression, rendering first aid, and light search and rescue. All of our instructors are uniformed frontline workers who are subject experts.
This is a series of six classes over three weeks. After you complete all 6 classes, you will participate in a hands-on, practical exercise to showcase your new skills! (If you register, you are required to attend all sessions.)
We only accept 25 attendees, so register sooner than later! The classes are free, and the only prerequisite to participate is that you live or work in Tacoma.
