In this drum-making workshop with Ricky Vegas (Yaqui, Tucson, AZ), you will learn about the power of drumming and song in Indigenous culture. Ricky will guide you through creating your own drum, while sharing Native cultural songs and drum-making lessons throughout.
To sign up, fill out the Google Form to choose your materials and determine the cost. The workshop will start with a blessing and an introduction to drumming, followed by individual guidance to create your drum's lacing pattern, handle, and wrap.
Cost ranges from $200-$270 depending on your choices, with a $100 deposit required to reserve your spot. The balance can be paid in class or ahead of time. Space is limited to 10 people, so sign up and pay the deposit at least 10 days before the class.
Payments can be made via Venmo (@RickyVegas) or CashApp ($RickyVegas3). You can pay by credit card on the day of the class, with a 3% processing fee.
