About this Event
Dates for September Series:Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm for 8 weeks starting 9/2/25
Class Description:Discover the art of clay in this 6-week beginner friendly ceramics course. Whether you’re completely new to pottery or looking to expand your skills, this class is designed to introduce you to all the essential techniques of working with clay.
Throughout the course, we’ll explore the core methods of handbuilding (including pinch, coil, and slab construction), get comfortable on wheel throwing, and learn the fundamentals of glazing and surface decoration. From functional pieces like mugs and bowls to sculptural forms, you’ll gain confidence in your ability to shape, refine, and finish your own ceramic work.
Each week builds on the last, giving you plenty of time to practice, play, and create. All materials, tools, and firing fees are included. No prior experience necessary, just bring your creativity and curiosity!

About the Instructor:Laryssa Paige EntlerHi, I’m Laryssa Paige Entler! Originally from Greenville, NC, I’ve been living in Charlotte since 2022. I first discovered ceramics back in 2018, when I signed up for a class with some friends—and I’ve been hooked ever since! What started as a fun creative outlet quickly became one of my greatest passions.
In 2023, I decided to begin teaching ceramics as a way to share the joy, mindfulness, and creativity that clay brings into my life. Outside the studio, I work as a User Experience Designer at Truist Financial here in Charlotte. While design is my profession, I still consider ceramics my favorite hobby that I’m lucky enough to get paid for.
My goal as an instructor is to create a relaxed, welcoming space where students of all skill levels can explore, play, and build confidence with clay.
