Ceramic Angel Lantern Workshop with Julie ZetinaDate and Time: Tuesdays, November 19, 6-8:30 p.m., and December 3, 6-8 p.m.
Location: SMAC Art Center, 7 Downing Street, Hollister, MO 65672
Experience level: Beginner to Advanced. Open to ages 12-adult. (Children 11 and under may take the workshop if accompanied by an adult.)
Fee: $60 per person (Hollister residents $30.00)
Create a ceramic angel lantern with Julie Zetina, in this two-part workshop, just in time for the holiday season. Your angel will make the perfect elegant touch for any holiday table.
On the first evening you will sculpt cut-outs on your angel so light from a tea light or fairy lights can shine through. Then you will build your angel on a leather-hard cone. Julie will guide you through the steps, so no experience is necessary. Julie will take your angel offsite to be bisque fired.
She will bring it back for you to glaze on the second evening. Afterwards, Julie will fire in her kiln once again before pick-up. (Pick up date will be announced in class.)
All tools, materials and instructions are included in the $60 fee. Thanks to a grant from the City of Hollister Parks and Recreation Department, Hollister residents only pay half the fee ($30). Please note: This class is non-refundable, but another person may come in your place, if you are unable. Do not purchase your tickets from any other source than SMAC. Although your work will be like the example, your angel will be uniquely created by you, therefore, it will be different. Glaze options will be limited.
