About Our Speaker
Vanecia Kerr, President & CEO of , leads the organization’s mission to improve lives through education, financial wellness, housing stability, and health initiatives. Under her leadership, United Way of Tucson serves more than 300,000 individuals and families annually by building cross-sector partnerships and driving measurable community impact. Nationally, she is recognized as a thought leader on equity, education, and community innovation, frequently sharing insights with civic, corporate, and philanthropic leaders.
Previously, Vanecia was Chief Impact Officer at Mile High United Way in Denver, where she advanced investments and partnerships that strengthened outcomes for children, families, and communities. She also served as Regional Executive Director of College Track Colorado, supporting first-generation students in achieving college degrees, and as a founding leader of City Year Denver, where she expanded its reach to thousands of K–12 students.
Her earlier career includes more than two decades in the corporate sector, where she held senior leadership roles in business development and relationship management for institutional clients with assets up to $800 million. At TIAA-CREF, she served as Regional Director of Community Affairs, where her work in corporate social responsibility inspired her transition to nonprofit leadership.
Her accolades include 9News Leader of the Year (2023), Woman of Impact (2022), and recognition among the Top 25 Most Powerful Women and Outstanding Women in Business. A dynamic speaker, she has delivered more than 300 engagements nationwide and globally, including for the Clinton Global Initiative. She has served on numerous boards and is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., The Links, Incorporated, and a Life Member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Vanecia holds a B.A. from Hampton University and an M.P.A. from Baruch College (CUNY).
