Matthew Blattmachr serves as President and CEO of Peak Trust Company, leading offices in Alaska and Nevada with a team of 55 professionals. An almost-lifelong Alaskan, Matthew moved to the state with his family as a child and built his education and career here, earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage College of Business and Public Policy and his MBA from Alaska Pacific University.
Matthew’s career path reflects the spirit of Alaskan entrepreneurship. As his father helped launch not just a company but an entire specialized industry in Alaska, Matthew grew up immersed in the work, starting from licking envelopes and learning every aspect of the business firsthand. Over the years, he apprenticed through every department at Peak Trust Company—operations, investments, and trust administration—before stepping into executive leadership. Today Peak Trust Company serves thousands of families all across the nation and internationally, administering over 12 billion in assets in Alaska and Nevada trusts. Since stepping into a leadership role, Matthew has continued to lead and grow the company his family helped build, carrying forward a legacy of innovation that helped shape Alaska’s pioneering role in a national industry.
Beyond his leadership at Peak, Matthew has played a major role in advancing Alaska’s trust and estate planning laws, ensuring that Alaska remains a competitive and forward-thinking place to do business. In 2019, he founded the Alaska Trust & Estate Professionals working group to bring together leaders dedicated to improving state trust and estate legislation. He also serves on the board of Commonwealth North, Alaska’s premier nonpartisan public policy forum.
Matthew’s story embodies what it means to grow, lead, and give back within your own community. From humble beginnings in a family business to guiding a nationally respected trust company, his journey offers lessons in leadership, entrepreneurship, and building a meaningful career in Alaska.
