What does it mean to be a “Fair Chance Employer?” Do you want to incorporate more inclusive hiring practices in your business? Please join the BERC in hosting the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO), a reentry organization for justice-involved individuals committed to workforce development in the community. In this workshop, CEO will provide resources and guidance on Fair Chance Hiring practices and laws, equity tools for employers, and opportunities to build a diverse and talented workforce with your business. Hear directly from local companies that partner with CEO for staffing purposes.
Topics covered:
● CA’s Fair Chance Act, “Ban the Box,” & Workforce Tax Credit Opportunity (WOTC)
● Hearing from a few local companies that partner with CEO for staffing purposes.
● Guidance on considering and hiring individuals with backgrounds.
● CEO’s transitional employment crew model with local businesses
