Central Plains Area Agency on Aging (CPAAA) celebrates this year’s Older Americans Month and to get you involved we're holding the 3rd annual Wellness in the Park on Tuesday, May 21st at Sedgwick County Park, Plum Shelter from 1-4pm. Finding us is easy, turn into the park from W 21st street and follow the signs to Plum shelter.
There will be information and activities inside the shelter and outside (we're hoping for a beautiful day). The theme of Older Americans Month this year is Powered by Connection. Join us at Wellness in the Park and find out more about how you can connect with others through activities at the library, volunteering, exercise opportunities and also improve your health and overall wellness on your own. Learn about local organizations that you can connect with and participate in exercise demonstrations and hands on activities (more to come).
CPAAA's Diabetes Education and Wellness Coordinator, Joe Samaniego will lead an On the Go with Joe exercise demo. Finally, the Irene Hart award will be presented to a person who has made an impact on the lives of older adults or the field of aging in Butler, Harvey or Sedgwick counties. Snacks will be provide for this celebration.
Vendors include: Master Gardeners, Sedgwick County Elections, Wichita Public Library, Dedicated Senior Medical Center, RSVP Program, CPAAA Needs Assessment and more.
