Join us on July 10, 2024 at 5 p.m. for a fun and insightful workshop with local author and poet Lalit Kumar on imagining and constructing poetry around nature and adventure!
The objective of the workshop is to introduce the audience to adventure/outdoor related poetry and inspire them to see how Nature & Adventure is good for their health and equally nourishing to the soul. Lalit will draw upon my personal experiences of mountaineering, motorcycling, marathon etc. and also writing poetry related to the topics.
In this workshop you will begin to explore your own creative writing through poetry, start a nature and adventure poem of your own, and have the opportunity to share your work at the end of the workshop.

About the author:
Lalit Kumar writes a regular column in 'India Currents magazine' sharing his passion for adventure and travel. His innate sense of curiosity for life’s myriad experiences has taken him skydiving, rock climbing, skiing, motorcycling, horse riding, water rafting, scuba diving and participating in Triathlon events. His latest book, ‘Yosemite of My Heart, Poems of Adventure in California’ was released at San Francisco Writers Conference mid-Feb 2024 to much acclaim. His first book 'Years Spent: Exploring Poetry in Adventure, Life and Love' was among top three Selects in the Poetry genre featured in ‘Indie Spotlight’ by Book Life/Publishers Weekly. His poems have also been published in various anthologies including 'Everything Intensely, San Francisco Writers Conference 2022' and 'Poetry of Diaspora in Silicon Valley'.
He is a fully credentialed member of ‘Bay Area Travel Writers’ (BATW) and has read poetry and spoken on author panels at the Cupertino poet laureate events, the San Francisco writers’ conference, San Jose Art and Mosaic America festival, Iowa Writers festival, Mesa Book festival ‘23 and more.
