CENTRAL COAST BEER MILE 2024Come take part in the #1 race on the Central Coast running calendar.
The race will take place on Saturday the 7th of December at 5pm. The location is the same as previous years, Adcock Park, West Gosford.
The rules are simple 4 beers and 4 laps. Or more precisely beer 400m, beer 400m, beer 400m and beer 400m. That’s it, however there is one caveat, if you at any point in the race are unable to hold down your beer you get to run a bonus lap.
With every event there are rules and they will be strictly enforced. Beer needs to be a minimum of 5% alcohol and a minimum of 355ml. Container can be can or glass bottle but opening needs to be a regular size (no large openings).
The race rules: first beer is to remain unopened until the starter gets us underway. The beer needs to be consumed fully in the transition area before commencing the first 400 metre lap. Bottle needs to be held upside down over the runners head as proof the container is empty. Second and subsequent beers need be consumed as per first beer until all beers and laps have been completed, including penalty laps when required.
There are plenty of resources online to familiarise yourself with the beer mile including tips and tricks for a successful race. With close to 5 weeks to race day there is ample time for the necessary training. I know of plenty who have been training somewhat unintentionally.
Prizes will be awarded to the first male and female to finish. The defending male champion is expected to be there along with stiff competition from previous champs plus plenty of wanna be's dreaming of glory.
Please share as all are welcome. History has shown that being a good runner is not necessarily a guarantee of a good beer mile. So if running is not your thing and beer drinking is, this may very well be the event for you.
Any questions just ask here. No questions, just turn up.
