About this Event
All learning experiences — be they in-person, online, or in virtual or augmented reality — should be designed with the learner front and centre. This means thinking carefully about learning goals, learner engagement, and evaluation (to name a few) throughout design, development and delivery. Dr. Louise Edwards will provide some practical tips for designing VR for learning - including how to decide if it’s really the best approach to take - to make sure your experience truly enhances learner outcomes.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Louise Edwards is a learning designer and VR designer/developer based in Canmore. She combines her experience as an academic researcher, high school science teacher and competency-based education consultant to design authentic, learner-centred experiences across disciplines and modalities. As a VR developer, she specializes in creating immersive and interactive experiences that help students and the general public learn abstract concepts in tangible ways, develop a deeper relationship with the Earth, and gain the scientific literacy required to engage with the modern world.
