About this Event
As the leaves fall and a chill permeates the air we are once again joined by Johnnie Raven and Lady Faye. One of our final events of the autumn, before winter takes hold, is Cemetery Socie-Tea. A delightful tea party in Kansas City's oldest public cemetery. We will have a menagerie of tea available for your enjoyment. Paired with the most scrumptious treats made with care by Lady Faye.
Not a fan of tea? We implore you to still join us and indulge in hot chocolate or coffee.
The cemetery sets a gorgeous backdrop of fall foliage and stones dating back to the early/mid 1800s. Meander through the rows and enjoy learning about some of this city's founders along with day to day people that worked to build this area into what it is today.
For entertainment Johnnie will serenade us with some gorgeous original compositions or whatever music inspires him in the moment. All of this to be only accompanied by his acoustic guitar.
A portion of each ticket sold will be a donation directly to the Union Cemetery Historical Society to help preserve and protect this hidden gem of Kansas City.
There will be historical society volunteers available for questions at an information table during the event.
We encourage everyone to bring their own teacup. If you don’t have one, a mug! Or venture out to your local thrift and antique stores. We will have a slight few available for the afternoon for those that forget or can’t find that perfect cup.
Parking will be available on street and the parking slots at the building across the street from our front gate. This is an outdoor event.
