Celtic song ,throat singing and overtone workshop

Laura Wilcock and Visy collaborate their musical talents , both rooted in the appreciation and deep connection of ancient cultures .

Singing in groups releases endorphins and has a positive effect on our physical, mental and emotional health . Overtone singing can strengthen and improve vocal resonance ,calm the nervous system and be used in meditative prayer.

Laura will explain the heritage and lead songs from the British Isles using Irish and Scottish Gaelic ,Welsh and Proto Celt dialects . This will include songs for working , invocation and lament.

Visy will tell us about the cultural influences and teach us methods and tips for overtone and throat singing . He will also be playing frame drums and instruments he has made himself such as the Tagleharpa and Tovshuur.
