Blending live music, cultural exploration, and skill-building, this program is perfect for seasoned players as well as those who are curious about group playing but aren’t sure where to start. Participants may bring their own instruments, or borrow one from Grinnell School of Music’s collection. A songbook of tunes will be provided, and facilitator Joshua Rex will guide players of all levels in joining the session, offering tips, cues, and encouragement along the way.
This is one of our drop-in programs, designed for those who may be unable to commit to regular classes but who want to be part of a musical community. Attend whenever it works for you!
The suggested participation fee for drop-in programs is $15 per event. As with all of our programs, pay-what-you-can is always an option. If you're planning to attend our drop-in programs regularly, subscribe for $50/month - attend all the programs you’d like, and help support the Grinnell School of Music!
Advance registration is recommended, but we will do our best to accommodate you at the door.
