Celia Belt is the founder of the Moonlight Fund Inc., a non-profit dedicated to providing financial, emotional, and in-kind assistance to burn and blast survivors and their families. Since its founding in 1998, the Moonlight Fund has helped tens of thousands of people across the U.S. with medical expenses, retreats, and ongoing support of all kinds. Belt lives in Bandera, Texas, on a ranch that is also home to her beloved horses and dogs. Belt's first book, REMARKABLY INTACT, was chosen as the best biography at the Indie Reader Discovery Awards in 2019. Her second book, Silent Warrior, is an account of her accident, in which she sustained a traumatic brain injury. It’s a must-have for anyone experiencing a life-altering injury or for those supporting someone in need of the best medical outcomes in this complex world of options available to us. Celia’s third book, My ValHalla, is the true tale of how she survived the betrayal of those she loved the most. A family member and a select group of burn survivors whom she had provided care for. The full account of a year-long struggle she endured to get her name, her assets, and her freedom back from those who ravaged her life and the lives of her family. Her story is one of immense pain, yet one of survival. As with all of her books, it’s not her story, it’s yours, she simply had the opportunity to tell it.
