Celebrate National Maritime Day at Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum by experiencing Celestial Seafarers, a multi-artist nautical collaboration evoking the light and sounds of a nighttime voyage.National Maritime Day recognizes the maritime industry, and is observed annually on May 22, the date in 1819 that the SS Savannah departed on the world’s first transoceanic steamship voyage, from Savannah to Liverpool, England.
