Join us for a Celestial Hafla to celebrate world belly dance day and Shimmy Mob!
What is a Hafla?
The short definition is:
hafla (n class, plural hafla)
- banquet, feast, celebratory party, reception
We are gathering together for a donation based potluck to share good music, amazing food, lots of dancing, and a great time!
We will be raising funds for Women and Children's Center through a raffle and any donations made to the event.
What is Shimmy Mob?
Since 2011, on World Bellydance Day (the second Saturday in May), teams of belly dancers around the world dance a ShimmyMob, a belly dance flash mob held annualy to raise awareness of domestic abuse.
ShimmyMob supports victims of abuse, and the shelters and similar organizations in participating local areas, by promoting awareness of emotional abuse and domestic violence.
