About this Event
Some wines are made for everyday sipping—but others are crafted for moments worth celebrating. In this class, we’ll explore the world of sparkling and dessert wines, from iconic Champagne-method bottles to pét-nats, moscatos, late-harvest gems, and fortified classics. We’ll dive into how these wines are made, what sets them apart, and why they’ve been tied to celebration for centuries.
You’ll learn the differences between sparkling styles and production methods, how sweetness levels work (and why they matter), and how to pair these styles with everything from salty snacks to rich holiday desserts. We’ll talk terroir, tradition, and technique—but in a way that keeps things fun, approachable, and delicious.
We’ll taste a lineup that spans the spectrum of sparkle and sweetness: crisp and toasty, juicy and aromatic, rich and indulgent. Perfect for brushing up on your festive wine knowledge or discovering a new go-to bottle for hosting.
Class will be led by our friend Diana Schultz, winemaker at Augustina Cellars, whose warm, inviting teaching style makes learning feel like a celebration in itself.
