Hollerbach's German Restaurant will host a truly special celebration for one of our favorite regulars, Marge, as she marks her 90th birthday. We invite the entire community to join us in honoring Marge, who has become an integral part of the Hollerbach's family over the years.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Marge grew up surrounded by the great polka bands of the era, which inspired her lifelong love of music and dancing. After marrying her high school sweetheart in 1952 and raising three children, Marge moved to Florida at the age of 29, where she continued her journey of resilience and joy. A breast cancer survivor twice over, Marge is a beacon of strength and grace. Even after her second diagnosis in 2019, just two days after undergoing a double mastectomy, Marge found herself back at Hollerbach's, where she is known to spend four or five nights a week enjoying the food, music, and love of our community.
Her story is one of triumph, but it’s also about the connection she shares with Hollerbach's. It all began when, the late Kathy Erb, one of our regular guests, invited Marge in one Sunday evening as she sat outside, watching the music from the window. From that moment on, Hollerbach's became Marge’s
second home, a place where she found friendship, music, and the warmth of family.
To honor our Dancing Queen, we’ll be featuring special “Drink Like Marge” deals all evening long, and our beloved polka band will be back to fill the room with the music that Marge holds so dear. Since it’s also Oktoberfest season, we’re expecting a vibrant crowd to join us, and we hope that all the people who have
had the pleasure of dancing with Marge over the years will be here to celebrate this incredible milestone.
Reservations are encouraged, but all are welcome to stop by, grab a dance, and wish Marge well. Her joy is contagious, and this celebration is about more than a birthday—it’s about community, resilience, and the enduring power of music to bring people together.
