Marsha Lee Griger (Carlson), passed away on December 23rd, 2024. Marsha was born to Cledith Oscar Carlson and Margaret Alberta Carlson on August 28th, 1948 in Omaha, NE. Marsha developed a passion for hard work and motherhood in a variety of roles for her family. Like most of us she had many chapters in her own book of life. From a restaurant waitress and manager for the Toddle House, busing company logistics planner for Greyhound, and ultimately a loving daughter, sister, niece, mother, granddaughter, grandmother and great-grandmother. Many lovingly called her “Mom, Marsha, Friend, Wife, Firecracker, Partner, Grandma and GG.”Marsha was passionate about sharing her love of trivia, cooking, history and her personal past with others. Marsha was dedicated to playing music and movies of all genres and enjoyed sharing those with her friends and family. Feeding her friends and family, Marsha always had a way of making people loved, and tried her absolute best to provide food to eat no matter who was there or what was available. Dinner was always on the table. Now that Marsha has passed into the arms of our Lord, her physical life on earth is over but it is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her.
She is survived by her sister, Bobbye Carlson & Jerry VanSant. Daughter Vicki Smith and family, Michaella Smith, Briana Black, Jerica Collier, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Daughter Jenny & Jim Groh and family, Mia, Joslyn, and Cody Pappan, and Ayessa and Amavaeh Parker. Son Ron & Laura Griger and family: Jimmy, Christopher, Brandon & Syera. Alexandria, Jackson, Willow, Lenora. Son Michael and Amanda Young and family: Jaiden, Harrison, Sofia. Her Grandchildren from late daughter Stephanie Kennemore, Tray & Krystal Kennemore, AnnaLee Kennemore, Stephan & Hunter Kennemore, Maurika & Ricky O'Neal, Inez Morgan, Kayla Kennemore, Keyshay Kennemore & Kierah Morgan, Rosita & Damon McQueary, Moni Nelson, Kaitlyn Kennemore, Jake Kennemore and Rachel Kennemore. Great-Grandchildren: Charlie, Edna, Ellie, Evelyn, Joshua, Kamryn, Kingston, Leana, Mira, Perennial, Riley, Ronan, Ryder, and Sean.
Preceded in death by Grandmother Lillie Morello, Mother Margeret Carlson, Brother David Carlson, Daughter Stephanie Kennemore, Grandchildren Jerome Collier, Nicole Smith and Lindsay Young, and great granddaughter DeMariona McGaugh.
The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Michael Young & Family, 8425 Sheffield ST., Omaha, NE 68122. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, February 15th at 12pm at St Paul United Methodist Church, 5410 Corby St., Omaha, NE 68104.
