Our first born son Ian passed away 10/28/25 at American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI. He had a significant seizure 10/25/25 which led to cardiac arrest. He was airlifted to Madison and after a few days in critical condition and almost losing him 3 times it became apparent that Ian's anoxic brain injury and swelling of his brain was at the point of no return and we would in fact lose him. Tom and I opted for organ donation to possibly help other families and for their kids to go home with them even though Ian could not come home with us. He was taken to OR on 11/1 and he gave the gift of life with his heart, lungs, bowel, Liver (went to 2 people), kidneys, corneas and tissue. We miss him so much. I am not sure if it has truly hit us yet. We feel like we're in the twilight zone to be honest. To honor our Bubby Dude we are having a Celebration of Life on 12/20/25 from 1pm-5pm at the Lombardi Club in Rockford. We will be eating all of Ian's favorite snacks (cheese it's, chex mix, kitkats, chocolate mini donuts, pretzels and more). We will be playing all of his favorite video games like Rock Band, Sonic and others. Ian was the purest soul we have ever met and we are honored to be his parents. Lets do all the things he loved together to celebrate him.
