Catie, I keep searching for the right words and none have come. I've been trying to do this post/announcement for two days. We are all in shock and disbelief. I can’t believe that we won't see you, or have silly random text conversations, sharing moments or events that made us think of each other. I'm sure you loved the million pastry questions and me asking to please, please make another one of your amazing cakes. I still hear your laugh and that giggle you do sometimes. The mischievous eyebrow raises and giddiness you get when you’re up to something, or nothing at all. I will miss your intensity and focus when working, followed by the sigh of, "glad that shit is over with", relief. You were a large part of us, to root, and continued to be, even as you went on to pursue your own space and place. I feel so lucky to have known you, we were all so lucky. To all of our root family and friends, please join us Friday, November 14th between 1pm and 3pm at root & vine, 216 East Union Street, Morganton.
We will raise a toast and celebrate the life and light of our dear friend Catie, a.k.a. Anna, Jackson. We would love if you could share photos, memories, funny stories. Feel free to wear anything with cats, bats or a even a Hogwarts hat. Futurama costumes are acceptable too, or just come as you are, because let’s face it, she wouldn’t want you to fuss over “little ol’ me.”
