About this Event

Join us for a FREE evening of original poetry performed by participants of the Celebrating Voices of Diaspora workshop! This event is hosted by local poet and artist, Leticia Priebe Rocha.

Open Mic: Community members may also share their own poems during the open mic—suggested theme is migration & diaspora, but all subjects are welcome.

Doors open and open mic sign-ups begin at 5:30pm. There are limited slots for the open mic, and they are first-come, first-serve. Open mic performers have up to 3 minutes on the mic.

The show starts at 6pm! Light refreshments will be served.

About the Host: Leticia Priebe Rocha is the author of In Lieu of Heartbreak, This is Like (Bottlecap Press, 2024). She graduated from Tufts University, where she was awarded an Academy of American Poets University Poetry Prize. Born in São Paulo, Leticia immigrated to Miami, FL at the age of nine and currently resides in Greater Boston. Her poems appear in Here to Stay: Poetry and Prose from the Undocumented Diaspora, Salamander, Rattle, and elsewhere. Her work has been supported by the Fine Arts Work Center, Undocupoets, and Mass Cultural Council. Leticia is an editor for Yellow Arrow Publishing, teaches poetry workshops, and loves the moon.
