Supporting Emerging Artists
All proceeds, including concessions, will benefit the Javiera Rodriguez Legacy Art Fund, which provides essential art supplies to emerging artists, ensuring they have the tools to explore their creativity—continuing the artistic spirit that Javi embodied. Every purchase directly supports a young artist, helping them overcome financial barriers and focus on their craft.
Remembering Javi
Javiera Rodriguez, a beloved friend of Art House, passed away on April 2, 2020, from complications due to COVID-19. She was a dedicated jewelry designer, creating sculptural statement pieces that blended antique and exotic beads with her signature gothic aesthetic.
Beyond her artistry, Javi was a passionate social worker, serving for 10 years as a Child Study Team case manager at Becton Regional High School. Superintendent Dario Sforza called her a “relentless advocate for special needs students” and a “dear colleague, friend, sister, and champion for students” (NorthJersey.com).
Javi was also a key part of the tight-knit group of designers who volunteered for the Snow Ball gala year after year, working alongside her best friend, Andrea McKenna, Art House’s Gallery Director. Together, they co-founded The Raven Gallery (2014-2017), a beloved hub for artists in downtown Jersey City.
