About this Event
A celebration of the life and ministry of the Rev. Absalom Jones, the first Black priest ordained in The Episcopal Church, will take place at St. Philip’s in downtown Indianapolis on Saturday, February 14 at 11 a.m. Bishop Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows will preside, and the Rev. Aaron Rogers, Missioner for Black Ministries in the Diocese of Southern Ohio, will preach. Music will be led by a joint choir made up of St. Philip’s members and El Coro Latinoamericano of Christ Church Cathedral. A reception will follow the service. This event is co-sponsored by St. Philip’s, Christ Church Cathedral, and the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis.
