About this Event
The Centre for the Study of Crime, Criminalisation and Social Exclusion (CCSE) at Liverpool John Moores University warmly invites you to join us to reflect upon the work and impact of the Anthony Walker Foundation (AWF) as the charity celebrates its 20th anniversary. The Liverpool-based organisation have been at the forefront of promoting equity and inclusion over the last two decades through tackling racism, hate crime, and discrimination, and through the promotion of educational opportunities and victim support services.
Our free public event will explore how the AWF continues to conduct anti-racist work in a range of public and private racist spaces, highlighting the tools, stories, solutions and healing required in order to move towards its vision of a global society where race, religion, and ethnicity do note label any person or put them at risk, where racial intolerance and violence is unacceptable, and where cultural diversity is embraced.
Guest speakers include:
Dr Gee Walker, Co-Founder of the Anthony Walker Foundation
Dr Dominique Walker, Co-Founder and Chair of the Anthony Walker Foundation
Professor David Gadd, University of Manchester
Andrea Bennett, Regional Probation Director for the North West
Panel discussions with AWF practioners
