Celebrating 8 Years as your Council President

On Jan 5 my colleagues re-elected me City Council President.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how I got here.
I was raised by a single mom in the Southfield neighborhood, and I learned early on that community is everything. Neighbors, mentors, and friends showed up for me, and that has guided me through eight years of serving Columbus in this role and eleven years in elected office.
On January 13, we’ll mark this milestone that fills me with such gratitude and humility. I would love for you to join me as we get together, catch up, and reflect on the work we have done and the work still ahead.
This is not about politics as usual. It is about people, relationships, and building a city where everyone belongs and where everyone can afford to stay.
