To open Ballet Arts Ensemble’s (BAE) 40th season, Artistic Director Cathleen Huling has chosen to present a mixed repertoire concert that looks back on BAE’s 40-year history and includes favorites selected by our patrons, alumnae, and Ms. Huling. The performances will take place at classic Chenery Auditorium on Saturday, November 19, at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
A few of the works included are:
• Tick Tock, first performed in 1987 and now reset by original choreographer David Curwen, retired professor of dance at Western Michigan University
• Friends, selected for the Michigan Youth Arts Festival in the late 1990’s
• Just Playing Around with music performed live by Barry Ross and Sophie Van Der Westhuizen
• It’s All About . . . , a collaboration with the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts and the late, world-renowned artist Kirk Newman
• The Dinner Party, an all-time favorite
Each performance will be followed by a reception where attendees will have the opportunity to mingle and meet Ms. Huling, the dancers, and other performers.
Tickets are on sale now at the Kalamazoo Community Box Office (269.250.6984). They may also be purchased online at BAEtickets.org. Ticket prices range from $15 to $22 with a special $15 rate for
