On Thursday 3rd July, we will welcome Lashings World XI to Lightcliffe to celebrate our 150th anniversary year.Lashings World XI tour the UK every year with a squad of international legends, including former Test Match players, from around the world.
The Lashings team expects to include the legendary West Indies fast bowling duo, Courtney Walsh and Curtly Ambrose. These two are second only to Anderson and Broad, having taken an amazing 924 Test wickets between them.
The Lashings squad also includes legendary opener Sir Gordon Greenidge, John Emburey, Adam Hollioake and Yorkshire’s own T20 World Champion Ryan Sidebottom.
We’ll also have commentary from TMS legend HENRY BLOFELD!
On the day, there will be lots of ways to get involved and mark our anniversary year including:
- 11.00am: Lashings players will hold a coaching and advice clinic for our junior players
- 12.00 - 3.30pm: A three-course Lashings @ Lightcliffe Lunch held in a marquee at the Club at which the Lashings players will dine and mingle
- 4.00 – 7.00pm: T20 Match: Lightcliffe CC v Lashings World XI. Spectators will be most welcome with bar and food options open around the ground
- 7.30pm: Lashings players depart but the club will remain open for celebrations
