About this Event
May Gibbs was Australia’s first female cartoonist, and her gumnut baby strip Bib and Bub first appeared in colour in the Sunday News on 3 August 1924. Bib and Bub was published until 1967 – when its creator was 90 years old – making it one of the nation’s longest running cartoon strips.
