Keynote Address: How the Women of California Created a Statewide Environmental
Host: Traci Bliss
Info: Professor Traci Bliss, author of "Big Basin, California's First State Park", reveals the pivotal role women played in the early conservation movement. In 1900, women from all walks of life came together to change the course of California history. Through strategic activism, they successfully established Big Basin as the state’s first park. But their story began even earlier when a small yet determined group refused to let their voices go unheard.
What fueled their remarkable perseverance and laid the foundation for California’s state park system? Professor Traci Bliss will delve into the lives of these trailblazing individuals and invite the audience to reflect on the profound lessons they offer us today.
