The winter solstice comes in the middle of winter and marks the longest night. Seasonally, the days will gradually begin to lengthen and the light will grow over the darkness. Winter is considered to be a naturally “Yin” time of year: it is passive, cool, slow, and quiet. A time to retreat and hibernate....naturally, it goes without saying that Winter Solstice is the most yin time of the year! The Winter Solstice this year arrives at 10:03am on the 21st of December...join us!
Take a pause in the middle of a hectic holiday season to reflect and restore your own inner energy and light. Experience the therapeutic and meditative qualities of reflective Yin poses in a candlelight studio, accompanied by a therapeutic sound bath. Yin Yoga is a quieter, slower-paced practice that involves passively holding the postures for longer periods of time in order to work our deeper connective tissues. Welcome the change of season and a return to the light of the world, and experience your own inner light.
Class is limited to 12 in-studio and 12 online students. Included with any JBYS, be sure to register, as this class historically fills quickly and to capacity.
