Celebrate the National Museum’s 135th birthday with us on 8 and 9 October!
Come dressed in a 1970s–1990s retro-inspired outfit and visit the museum for a fun-filled day of exciting activities. Embark on a ‘tech’ quest through our Off / On: Everyday Technology that Changed our Lives, 1970s – 2000s showcase and redeem a complimentary goodie, or join one of our complimentary* workshops to make nostalgic crafts such as friendship band! Don't forget to treat yourself with some retail therapy at 13 specially curated pop-up retail booths.
*Complimentary workshops and gift are only valid for visitors who have registered AND dressed up according to the theme of the party. We reserve the rights to refuse redemption to visitors who do not meet the criteria.
Gift redemptions at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm!
As part of our 135th anniversary celebrations, visitors can redeem complimentary delicious retro snacks at the following timings:
These nostalgic snack treats will be given out based on the below schedule:
- 1pm: A slice of your old-school flavoured cake
- 3pm: Craze Hottis
- 5pm: Kacang Puteh
Redemption is on a first-come, first-served basis, while stocks last. Limited snacks are available per day.
Off / On: Everyday Technology that Changed our Lives, 1970s – 2000s showcase quest
Redeem a quest card at our event booth and visit the showcase to find the answers. Visitors will receive a small tech-inspired gift when they successfully return the completed quest card at the following timeslots:
- 11am -1pm: Personalised typewritten poem from The Novel Encounter
- 1pm - 3:30pm: Customised pop socket
- 3:30pm - 6pm: Old-school water ring handheld game
Redemption is on a first-come, first-served basis, while stocks last. Limited quantities are available per day.
Craft Workshops from 11am - 6pm
Join our complimentary craft workshops to make your very own scrapbook or friendship band, whereby do approach our friendly staff at the event booth to redeem a wrist tag to participate, subject to availability.
