National Tree Week is coming up at the end of November and this is a great opportunity to celebrate trees in Thanet!
Take a walk with us in the park guided by tree expert Peter Hasted, to discover what these trees mean to so many people and the challenges of growing trees on the peninsula of Kent.
The walk will last 1 to 1.5 hours and will be a great opportunity to discover more about the beauty of trees and urban woodland ecology. Meeting point details will be sent by us in your confirmation email.
Tivoli Woods at the south eastern end of Hartsdown Park in Margate has mature trees and
several pathways running through it, as well as lots of wildlife, including parakeets and woodpeckers.
"The tree walk, lead by Peter Hasted, was most enjoyable and informative. Peter spoke about the trees present in the park, naming and talking about the different characteristics of many trees we otherwise take for granted on our walks through and around the area. Everyone learned something new and enjoyed the experience. Opportunities for questions from the group helped clarify our understanding of what we were seeing and learning together.

Please come prepared for a 1 to 1.5 hour walk through woodland, wearing suitable footwear - Wellington boots are recommended, with waterproofs and some water to drink.
The series of 4 walks will take place during National Tree Week at woodland and parks across Thanet on Saturday 22nd, Sunday 23rd November and Saturday 29th, Sunday 30th November

We are offering a price range for tickets - £5, £10 & £15. Proceeds will be donated to Friends of Montefiore Woodlands, St Peters Eco Church, Sunken Garden Society, please choose the option that you feel suits your situation best.
