The American Chamber Chorale and Orchestra gave the St. Louis premiere of Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna (Light Eternal) during our fourth season, 2004-2005. It serves as the centerpiece of this concert of gratitude and celebration for Light in the darkness. Also on this program: Lauridsen’s setting of James Agee’s Sure On This Shining Night, Eriks Esenvald’s Stars, Eric Whitacre’s Water Night, O Lux Beatissima by Missouri composer Howard Helvey, and Frank Ligeti’s setting of St. Louis poet Sara Teasdale’s There Will Be Rest.
