This 86-minute festival nominated feature documentary focuses on iconic Canadian sculptor Joe Fafard during the last years of his life. Fafard was arguably one of Canada’s most commercially successful artists of the last several decades.
After receiving a tragic cancer diagnosis, Joe sets out to finish two seminal works. He recounts his childhood in a small French/Metis community, his thoughts about death and art and some of the backstories to his works. We also get a fascinating look inside his process within his foundry. It is a very personal depiction of the artist at work, while facing his own mortality.
