Shakti International Women’s Day Commemoration
Theme: Women & Social Justice
Join Shakti for a special International Women’s Day commemoration centred on Women and Social Justice. This women-focused event brings us together to listen, reflect, and honour the voices and lived experiences of women working in social justice spaces across Aotearoa New Zealand.
The event offers two ways to attend:
- In person (Auckland Central):
A modest in-person gathering featuring empowering women speakers, a mini kids' party with a magician and balloonist, culturally diverse morning tea, and a pop-up indoor market. The market will include pre-loved clothing, upcycled accessories, and handcrafted items made by women from our community, courtesy of Sustinnoworx. By attending and purchasing from the market, you will be supporting our fundraising efforts.
Venue details will be shared with those who successfully register. Venue is wheelchair-accessible. - Online via Zoom webinar (nationwide):
Open to all across Aotearoa New Zealand. Join us from your home or office over your first cup of tea, chai, or coffee as we hear from our guest speakers and share this meaningful morning together.
This event is open to women from all walks of life who care about and support our kaupapa of women of colour supporting each other, building collective strength, and advancing social justice.
