Since its birth in the South Bronx in the 1970s, hip hop has become a global phenomenon. MIM curator of education Mike Silvers will discuss the genre’s significance and transformations around the world.

Learn choreography with dancers from the hip hop dance studio the Jukebox, which performed in the Super Bowl LVII halftime show!
Film: Wild Style

Wild Style is a documentary from 1983, detailing the rise of hip hop culture in America. This film is regarded as the first hip hop motion picture and features music icons such as Grandmaster Flash and ZEPHYR.
