About this Event
This event showcases a diverse range of artwork from CRSG members. Medium used include watercolor, oil, acrylics, pencils, pastel, gouache, silkscreen cast paper sculptures and even beach glass. Subjects range from landscapes, animals, floral, portrait, modern art and more, offering a true kaleidoscope of artwork to feast the mind.
The venue estate, Cedar Ridge Creative Centre, which is owned by the City of Toronto, is also breathtaking. The mansion was built in 1912, spans over 5,000 square feet and is remarkably preserved. The lower levels have been converted into the Studio Gallery, while the upper rooms are now used as art studios.
The property also boasts an extensive garden full of blooming flowers, tree flowers, and lush green lawns. Furthermore, Cedar Ridge Trail starts at the property and meanders down the hill, leading to a ravine filled with wildlife, birds, and abundant nature, making it a hidden gem in Scarborough.
Cedar Ridge Studio Gallery (CRSG) was established in 1978 as a registered charitable organization for the arts. It was solely run by member volunteers until the mid-eighties and has had a close partnership with the City of Scarborough and, after amalgamation, the City of Toronto for over 40 years. It focuses on supporting and nurturing emerging artists and welcoming communities to experience art by hosting exhibitions and arts events.
