About this Event
Come out to Cedargrove, Missouri and be a part of history. Cedargrove was once a thriving town along the banks of the upper Current River, even boasting of a dance hall. On a Saturday night the town folks would hang lanterns from the trees and set up the wooden dance floor along side the Current River. They called it Happy Hollow. Eli Derryberry, Robert Rasor and Buck Asbridge would warm up their string instruments and Pop Hughes would dance a jig to The Eighth of January. We are fortunate to have the Big Rock Candy Mountain Retreat newly renovated and opened ready to welcome us. Don’t miss this exciting night to celebrate families of the upper Current River communities who settled near the headwaters at Montauk and on down river at Lower Parker, Cedargrove, and Akers.
