This is a once in a lifetime experience - to watch a world-renowned pianist who has an extensive catalog of musical recordings. She was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque Frédéric Chopin on her recording of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 and Saint-Saëns' Piano Concerto No. 2, with André Previn conducting the London Philharmonic. A child prodigy, Cecile at 19, became the youngest woman to win the prestigious award - a gold medal from the Leventritt competition. She was in good company. Former Leventritt winners include Alexis Weissenberg, Eugene Istomin, Van Cliburn and John Browning. She is an international performer who has collaborated with numerous Philharmonic orchestras in the United States, Europe, Asia, and in her beloved country, the Philippines.
Come join us when she performs on November 1 at the Texas A & M Performing Arts Center. She is our Filipino National Treasure - Cecile Licad!
This event is sponsored by the Coastal Bend Filipino-American Association. Information will be available soon.
